My favorite island ever! Another show by the whales right off the boat this AM. We had breakfast on our balcony so we could watch.
We had to tender over to Lahaina from the ship. We were met by some elderly hula dancers. So cute. The huge banyan tree was there from 41 years ago. So special.
M&E are off to do a submarine ride. Denny and I try to find the bus stop...no luck. We ended up sharing a taxi with a couple to Whaler's village on Kaannapali Beach.
41 years ago when we first came to Hawaii, we stayed at the Maui Surf. When we walked in, it was all open with breezes blowing and Hawaiian music. I thought I had died and gone to Heaven. I have dreamed of going back there ever since. Well now it is owned by Westin. The lobby is exactly the same, but oh my gosh.... the grounds are amazing! I can't even describe it..so beautiful, but believe me I have lots of pictures. LOL
Whaler's Village is a high end large open air mall very nice. There is a side walk running in both directions parallel with the beach for a couple of miles. One resort after another. All beautiful. We saw a huge sea turtle on the beach. We stopped to rest at this cave like bar with a lagoon running thru it at the Hyatt and had a drink before we headed back. We passed the Hyatt, the Marriott, a condominium complex called Alli and then the Westin. M&E called so we went ack to Lahaina town, met them for lunch and walked around there for a couple of hours before heading back to the ship where we grabbed a bite in the buffet (too tired to dress up) and headed to the Vista lounge to watch the movie "Now you see me".
I was freezing, so I left the movie after 10 mins., went to room and crashed. Sorry, I have no idea what happened next.
