We were up and on the bus to Paris by 7:45. The trip took 3 hrs including a 30 min "comfort" stop. We jumped off the bus for our do it on your own tour and headed to the Eiffel Tower.....huge! Then took a taxi to Notre Dame. The wait was 3hrs. So we decided not to wait. Have seen many,many cathedrals! Always breath takingly beautiful. We had lunch at a sidewalk cafe by Notre Dame. Everyone was drinking wine.....hey when in Rome;)
After lunch we strolled thru the streets...so beautiful. Wide boulevards, lots of trees everywhere. My favorite city EVER!!! We walked thru the Louvre, which was a courtyard surrounded by massive buildings covering 3 long city blocks with lovely fountains and statues everywhere. It was massive and would take several weeks to do it justice. Then we walked thru Tullieri Gardens. Several blocks of gardens, hedges, fountains, little cafes and statues. All the city is built out of limestone. This city is unbelievable!!!!! We walked back to where our bus pickup was and made it back with 10 mins. To spare. Worn out but an unbelievable day. Buffet for dinner and bed early.. Tomorrow Dover, England.
